Notes: The mutant rat showing microphthalmia was found in the colony of Donryu rats at Central Institute for Experimental Animals in 1974. A pair of F3 rats was transferred to The Third Department for Anatomy, School of Medicine, Chiba University in 1975 and maintained by sib mating. F50 rats were transferred to Faculty of Agriculture, Utsunomiya University by Dr. S Sugita in 1991 National BioResource Project for the Rat in Japan
