DSMZ Cat# PC-1181, RRID:CVCL_D5GM Nicotiana tabacum (Common tobacco) Anecdotal: This cell line was generated at the Japan Tobacco and Salt Monopoly Public Corporation. In 1982 Toshiyuki Nagata brought it with him to the USA and left it there after renaming it to NT-1 in order to distribute it clandestinely because he was not allowed officially to give the BY-2 cell line to others. He called it NT-1 as it could both mean Nicotiana tabacum or Nagata, Toshiyuki (PubMed=37642778)., Characteristics: Used as model for the electrochemical sensing of beta-glucuronidase activity of transgenic cell lines (PubMed=29982119)., Characteristics: Tested for the production of viral proteins (PubMed=14680934; PubMed=12601177; PubMed=16187337)., Characteristics: Tested for the production of synthetic proteins (PubMed=15818563)., Characteristics: Tested for the production of bacterial proteins (PubMed=14688094; PubMed=22928883)., Characteristics: Tested for the production of animal proteins (PubMed=7766897)., Characteristics: Produces low levels of nicotine (PubMed=18567891)., Characteristics: Can be used to prepare protoplasts (PubMed=17947977)., Group: Plant cell line. DSMZ Cat# ACC-848, RRID:CVCL_XX04 Homo sapiens (Human) Characteristics: Transfected with the tetracycline transactivator (tTA) protein, a fusion of tetR with the activation domain of HSV-1 VP16., Characteristics: Transfected with the hprtDR-GFP reporter construct that targets the DR-GFP into the hprt locus and includes a dominant selectable puroR marker. The DR-GFP construct which contains a tandem repeat of two inactive genes coding for EGFP. After transfection with an expression vector coding for the I-SceI enzyme, recombination induced by the cleavage of the I-SceI site recreates a functional EGFP. Can't find your Cell Line?

We recommend that you click next to the search bar to check some helpful tips on searches and refine your search firstly. If you want to find a specific cell line, it's easier to enter an RRID or add the vendor information to search. You can refine the search results using Facets on the left side of the search results page. If you are on the table view, you can also search in a specific column by clicking the column title and enter the keywords.

If you still could not find your cell line in the search results, please help us by registering it into the system — it's easy. Register it with the Cellosaurus. An RRID will be generated in 1-2 business days.

  1. RRID Portal Resources

Welcome to the RRID Resources search. From here you can search through a compilation of resources used by RRID and see how data is organized within our community.

  2. Navigation

You are currently on the Community Resources tab looking through categories and sources that RRID has compiled. You can navigate through those categories from here or change to a different tab to execute your search through. Each tab gives a different perspective on data.

  3. Logging in and Registering

If you have an account on RRID then you can log in from here to get additional features in RRID such as Collections, Saved Searches, and managing Resources.

  4. Searching

Here is the search term that is being executed, you can type in anything you want to search for. Some tips to help searching:

    1. Use quotes around phrases you want to match exactly
    2. You can manually AND and OR terms to change how we search between words
    3. You can add "-" to terms to make sure no results return with that term in them (ex. Cerebellum -CA1)
    4. You can add "+" to terms to require they be in the data
    5. Using autocomplete specifies which branch of our semantics you with to search and can help refine your search
  5. Collections

If you are logged into RRID you can add data records to your collections to create custom spreadsheets across multiple sources of data.

  6. Facets

Here are the facets that you can filter the data by.
