UTHSCSA MicroCT Core Laboratory (RRID:SCR_012241) UTHSCSA MicroCT Core Laboratory service resource, core facility, access service resource THIS RESOURCE IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE. Documented on May 22, 2024. UTHSCSA Orthopaedics Bone and Mineral High-Resolution 3D Imaging Facility is a NIH-funded imaging facility equipped with two ex-vivo desktop microCT systems, a reference point indenter and a furnace. The non-destructive nature of microCT imaging allows the researcher to strengthen his/her research by using the same sample for histology or biomechanical testing after microCT imaging. Advantages of Micro-CT - Micro-CT allows for extremely high-resolution, non-destructive, 3D imaging. - No staining, sectioning, or sample preparation needed - Samples can be frozen or fixed - Since Micro-CT is non-destructive, other assays may be carried out after, thereby increasing the amount of data per sample - Data acquisition is a rapid process, allowing for a speedy return of samples is listed by: ScienceExchange
